Iron is commonly associated with animal protein. That doesn’t mean vegetarians will not get the necessary iron in their diet. Iron can be found in a variety of foods, which includes choices for both non-veg as well as vegan people.
There are two types of iron- heme and non-heme.
Heme iron can be obtained from consuming meat, fish, and other sources of animal protein. Also, it is quickly digested by your body.
Non-heme iron are found in grains, vegetables, fruits, beans nuts, and seeds. It takes a little longer than the heme iron to get converted and digested.
